Sam Rivers, Limp Bizkit Bassist, Dies at 48

Sam Rivers, the bassist and one of the founding members of the US nu metal band Limp Bizkit, has died at the age of 48. The band announced the news on social media, calling him “the soul in the sound” and praising his talent and kindness. The cause of death has not been revealed.

In their tribute, the band said Sam was not just their bass player, but a big part of their identity. They remembered him for his effortless musical skills and his caring personality.

A Key Member of Limp Bizkit

Sam Rivers helped form Limp Bizkit in 1994 along with Fred Durst, John Otto, and DJ Lethal. The band became famous in the late 1990s for mixing heavy metal with hip-hop. They released hit albums such as:
