Apple TV Cancels The Last Frontier After One Season
Apple TV has canceled its action thriller series The Last Frontier after just one season. The decision came only two weeks after the season finale aired. The show will not return for Season 2.
The Last Frontier starred Jason Clarke as Frank Remnick, a U.S. Marshal working alone in the harsh wilderness of Alaska. His quiet job turns dangerous when a prison transport plane crashes in a remote area, allowing many violent criminals to escape. As Frank tries to protect the nearby town, he begins to believe the crash was not an accident, but part of a bigger and more dangerous plan.
The series premiered on October 10 on Apple TV and ended on December 5. While the story had an interesting idea, the show received mixed reactions from both critics and viewers.
Some people praised the series, calling it thrilling and suspenseful. However, many others criticized it for weak writing and slow pacing. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show scored 46% from critics and 50% from audiences, showing how divided viewers were.
The creators of the show had ideas for a second season. They said the story could have moved beyond Alaska and followed U.S. Marshals around the world. However, these plans will not move forward now.
Apple TV is known for focusing on quality original shows, but this also means expensive production costs. If a show does not attract enough viewers quickly, it is often canceled. Sadly, The Last Frontier failed to impress enough people to survive in today’s competitive streaming world.
Despite a strong cast and an exciting concept, The Last Frontier could not live up to expectations and has officially come to an end.
