Because of the MCU multiverse, it now seems possible that Hugh Jackman could continue playing Wolverine for many more years. Still, fans know that one day Marvel will need a new actor. Now, many Wolverine fans believe they have found the perfect replacement — and he is not a big Hollywood star.


Fans Choose Matt Wood as the Next Wolverine

On X (formerly Twitter), fans are talking about actor Matt Wood as a perfect choice for Wolverine in the MCU. Matt Wood is mostly unknown, which fans believe makes him an even better option.

One fan wrote:

“Time for a recast, and I know just the actor who would be perfect for it. Matt Wood.”

Another fan explained why they like him:

“Short, powerful presence, unknown newcomer like Hugh Jackman once was, and willing to get extremely fit. He would be a true Wolverine.”

Many fans also compared him to David Corenswet, who was cast as the new Superman, saying Matt Wood could have the same success story.

Matt Wood is best known for playing comedian John Belushi in the movie Saturday Night. He does not have many acting credits yet, but fans see that as a positive thing.

It could still be for Hugh Jackman, but many fans believe this might lead to a new Wolverine after Avengers: Secret Wars, when the MCU is expected to reset parts of its universe.
