7 Monsters Fans Want to See in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2 is getting closer, and excitement is growing fast. The series has already expanded the MonsterVerse by exploring the hidden history of Titans and Monarch’s secret operations between Godzilla (2014) and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).

Season 2 is expected to focus more on Kong and Skull Island, filling the story gap between Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla vs. Kong. With new locations, ancient myths, and mysterious Titans teased, fans are now speculating about which monsters could appear next.

Legendary Pictures has already used major Toho monsters like Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mothra. That means Season 2 could be the perfect place to introduce lesser-known classic kaiju, MonsterVerse originals, or even myth-based creatures.

7 Monsters Fans Want to See in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2

Here are seven monsters fans would love to see in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2.

1. Behemoth

Behemoth was briefly introduced in Godzilla: King of the Monsters as one of the Titans awakened by King Ghidorah. He looks like a massive mammoth mixed with sloth-like features and is monitored by Monarch at Site 58 in Rio de Janeiro.

Despite only appearing for a few seconds, Behemoth quickly became a fan favorite. Unlike many Titans, he is described as calm and non-aggressive. With the Hollow Earth allowing Titans to travel underground, Season 2 could show Behemoth becoming active earlier than expected.

His mammal-like design also makes him a natural fit for a Kong-focused storyline.

2. Giant Snake Titan

Kong has fought dinosaurs, giant bats, and even robotic monsters—but a giant snake would be a perfect Skull Island threat.

In the 1976 King Kong remake, Kong battled a massive snake, and in King Kong Escapes (1967), he fought a giant sea serpent. The MonsterVerse already paid tribute to this idea with the Drownviper in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Season 2 could introduce a new snake Titan living deep within Skull Island or the Hollow Earth, giving Kong a dangerous but grounded enemy.

3. Baragon

Baragon is a classic Toho monster that first appeared in Frankenstein vs. Baragon and later became part of the Godzilla universe.

He is a horned, burrowing creature with large ears and a dinosaur-like body. His underground nature makes him perfect for the Hollow Earth concept already established in the MonsterVerse.

Because Baragon is not one of Toho’s “top-tier” monsters, Legendary may have an easier time using him in a TV series. He would also make an excellent physical opponent for Kong.

4. Anguirus

Anguirus holds an important place in Godzilla history as the first monster Godzilla ever fought in Godzilla Raids Again (1955).

He is a fast, armored Titan with sharp spikes covering his back. Despite being popular in older films, Anguirus has been mostly absent from modern live-action movies.

Skull Island and the Hollow Earth would be ideal environments for Anguirus. Season 2 could finally give him a modern redesign and allow fans to see him clash with Kong—or even reunite with Godzilla on a smaller scale.

5. Ebirah

Ebirah is a giant lobster-like sea monster from Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (1966). Interestingly, Ebirah was originally created to fight Kong, but rights issues forced Toho to replace Kong with Godzilla.

After decades, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters could finally fulfill that original idea. With Season 2 teasing underwater Titans, Ebirah could emerge from the ocean to threaten Skull Island.

He could also cross paths with Godzilla, setting up a long-awaited rematch in the MonsterVerse.

6. King Caesar

King Caesar is a legendary guardian monster from Okinawan mythology within the Godzilla universe. Many fans believe he was created as a Kong substitute after Toho lost the rights to King Kong.

His title alone makes him interesting in a MonsterVerse filled with “kings,” including Godzilla (King of the Monsters) and Kong himself. King Caesar’s role as an ancient protector fits perfectly with Monarch’s theme of Titans being worshiped as gods.

He has only appeared twice in live-action films, making Season 2 the perfect chance to modernize and reintroduce him to a new audience.

7. A MonsterVerse Kraken

Season 2 trailers tease a powerful sea Titan known as Monster X, possibly connected to elemental forces. While it could be a known Titan like Tiamat or Na Kika, there is another exciting possibility.

Monster X could be the MonsterVerse’s version of the Kraken.

The Kraken is a legendary sea monster from ancient mythology, known for dragging ships into the ocean depths. The MonsterVerse often blends real myths with Titan lore, making the Kraken a perfect fit.

Since Legendary Pictures also produced Clash of the Titans (2010), bringing the Kraken into the MonsterVerse would feel like a fun and meaningful callback.
