Fast Forever: Final Fast & Furious Movie Gets 2028 Release Date

After years of waiting, fans of the Fast & Furious franchise finally have big news. The next—and likely final—chapter has officially been announced with a new title and release date.

Vin Diesel confirmed on social media that Fast 11 is officially titled Fast Forever, and the film will race into theaters on March 17, 2028.

Why Fast 11 Took So Long

It has been nearly three years since Fast X was released in 2023. That film ended on a massive cliffhanger, leaving Dom Toretto and his crew scattered around the world while villain Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) continued his revenge mission.

Originally, the final movie was expected to arrive in 2027 as part of a two-film event. Plans also included a spin-off starring Dwayne Johnson that would connect directly to the main story. However, multiple delays and changes behind the scenes slowed everything down.

Now, with an official date finally locked in, the franchise is officially moving forward.

Vin Diesel Confirms the Title: Fast Forever

Vin Diesel announced the new title on Instagram, calling the journey of the franchise a legacy that “lasts forever.” While he didn’t reveal any story or casting details, the message made it clear that this film is meant to be a true finale.

Director Louis Leterrier, who helmed Fast X, is expected to return, although his involvement hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.

According to Vin Diesel, the final movie will:

  2. Focus again on street racing and car culture

Brian, famously played by the late Paul Walker, has remained an emotional presence throughout the series. While no details have been confirmed, fans expect the character to be honored in a respectful way, possibly through digital effects or story callbacks.

What About Dwayne Johnson’s Spin-Off?

It’s still unclear whether Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will appear in Fast Forever or if his planned spin-off is still happening. Universal has not shared any updates, leaving fans waiting for more official announcements.
