Halle Berry Hints at Storm’s Possible MCU Return
Halle Berry may not be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, but recent comments from both Berry and Chris Hemsworth are keeping hope alive for Storm’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Berry and Hemsworth are currently promoting their upcoming crime thriller Crime 101, which also stars Mark Ruffalo. Since Ruffalo is returning as Bruce Banner and Hemsworth will reprise his role as Thor in Avengers: Doomsday, fans have been asking Berry whether she will return as Storm — despite her absence from the film’s official cast list.
Chris Hemsworth Wants a Thor and Storm Team-Up
In an interview with CinemaBlend, Chris Hemsworth admitted he was disappointed that Avengers: Doomsday won’t include a Thor and Storm crossover.
He joked that Thor would probably feel an instant connection with Storm because both characters control weather, saying they “have something in common.”
Berry playfully responded to the comment, suggesting that maybe Storm isn’t needed this time because Thor already has weather powers.
Halle Berry Is Open to Returning as Storm
While speaking to ScreenRant, Halle Berry shared that she is sad not to be part of Avengers: Doomsday, but made it clear she is very open to returning as Storm in the future.
She explained that Storm is a deeply meaningful character for her and that the X-Men films have always carried powerful messages about being different and standing strong. Berry said she would happily return if given the chance, even mentioning possible reshoots or future Avengers films.
Her words strongly suggest that Storm’s story in the MCU may not be over yet.
Could Storm Appear in Avengers: Secret Wars?
Halle Berry originally played Storm in the X-Men films from 2000 to 2006 and last appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2014. Since then, other actresses have portrayed younger versions of the character, but Berry remains the most iconic Storm for many fans.
Even though she says she’s not in Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel fans remain skeptical. After all, actors like Andrew Garfield and Chris Evans famously denied returning to Marvel projects before making surprise appearances.
So far, seven X-Men actors are confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and others. Storm’s absence would feel noticeable, given her importance to the team.
There is also strong speculation that Berry could appear in Avengers: Secret Wars. If the film follows the Secret Wars comics, it may introduce Thor Corps, a group of Thor variants from across the multiverse. This could easily include a version of Storm wielding Mjolnir — something already teased in What If…? Season 3.
Adding fuel to the rumors, Chris Hemsworth joked that he would “make sure” Halle Berry appears in the next Avengers film.
