Brahmastra 2: Alia Bhatt Set for Extended Role as Deepika Padukone Talks Continue

Brahmastra 2 is already creating excitement among Bollywood fans, and the latest update adds another major name to the film. Alia Bhatt is reportedly set to return for the sequel with a much bigger presence.

Ranbir Kapoor is expected to begin shooting for Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra 2 in April 2027. The sequel will reportedly focus more on the story of Dev and Amrita, with Ranbir expected to play both Shiva and Dev.

Alia Bhatt to Have a Longer Screen Presence

According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Alia Bhatt has been confirmed for Brahmastra 2. Unlike her role in the first film, her appearance in the sequel is expected to be more substantial.

Alia is reportedly scheduled to shoot for around 25 days. The entire film is planned to have a shooting schedule of approximately 125 days.

In the story, Alia’s character Isha will continue to be connected with Shiva, played by Ranbir Kapoor. Her role is expected to run parallel to the central storyline involving Dev and Amrita.

Deepika Padukone’s Role Is Still Being Discussed

While Alia Bhatt has reportedly been locked for the sequel, talks with Deepika Padukone are still ongoing. She is being considered for the role of Amrita, who is an important character in the second chapter of the Brahmastra franchise.

Deepika’s availability is said to be a key factor because of her existing personal and professional commitments. If she joins the project, her character will reportedly share a major part of the story with Ranbir’s Dev.

Ranbir Kapoor to Play Shiva and Dev

One of the biggest attractions of Brahmastra 2 will be Ranbir Kapoor’s reported double role. The actor is expected to return as Shiva while also portraying Dev, a character introduced as a major mystery in the first film.

The sequel is expected to explore Dev and Amrita’s story in greater detail while also continuing Shiva and Isha’s journey.

Reports also suggest that Alia Bhatt could have an important role in Brahmastra 3, where her character may have a parallel lead alongside Deepika Padukone.

Ayan Mukerji Preparing for the 2027 Shoot

Director Ayan Mukerji is reportedly working extensively on the script and production plans for Brahmastra 2. The filmmaker is aiming to begin filming in April 2027.

With Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and potentially Deepika Padukone at the centre of the sequel, the second chapter is shaping up to expand the story and mythology introduced in the first Brahmastra movie.
