Brahmastra 2 Needs a New Studio Partner

The much-awaited Brahmastra 2 is once again in the spotlight. The sequel, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, with Alia Bhatt expected to make an extended special appearance, is currently looking for a new studio partner.

According to a trade source, Ayan Mukerji's production house, Starlight Pictures Private Limited, will produce the second part. The company was also involved in the first Brahmastra and holds the film's intellectual property rights.

Jio Studios Decides Not to Join Brahmastra 2

The makers of Brahmastra 2 had reportedly been in talks with Jio Studios to bring the company on board as the studio partner. However, the discussions did not move forward, and Jio Studios has decided not to associate with the sequel.

The development is interesting because Star Studios was one of the major partners behind the first Brahmastra. Since Star's entertainment business is now part of JioStar, there had been expectations that the partnership could continue through Jio Studios.

For now, neither Jio Studios nor Star Studios is attached to Brahmastra 2.

Dharma Productions and YRF Also Not Attached

Dharma Productions, which was involved with the first film, is also not part of the sequel.

After Dharma's exit, Ayan Mukerji reportedly opened discussions with Yash Raj Films. YRF head Aditya Chopra had shown interest in the project, especially while Ayan was working on War 2 for the studio.

However, the talks reportedly did not continue after War 2 failed to perform as strongly as expected. Jio Studios later became part of the discussions, but that partnership has also now fallen through.

As a result, Ayan Mukerji and his team are once again searching for a suitable studio to back the ambitious sequel.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Lead Brahmastra 2

Despite the studio uncertainty, Brahmastra 2 remains one of the most talked-about upcoming Hindi films.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are expected to headline the sequel, while Alia Bhatt is set to have an extended special appearance. The combination of the three stars has already created strong interest among Bollywood fans.

The first Brahmastra also built a strong audience recall, making the sequel an important project for the Hindi film industry.

With a major cast, Ayan Mukerji's ambitious vision and the existing popularity of the franchise, the makers are expected to attract interest from other major studios.

The search for a new studio partner is currently underway, and the next major update could reveal which banner will finally join Brahmastra 2.
