Hot Sweet Sour: A Love Story With a Heartbreaking Ending

Hot Sweet Sour: Ingredients of a Love starts like a simple romantic story but slowly becomes an emotional film about love, separation, sacrifice, and lost time.

The story follows Murat and Duygu, two people who have known each other since childhood. As they grow older, their friendship turns into love. Murat believes they should get married, but Duygu is not ready to give up her personal dreams. She refuses his proposal.

Instead of ending their relationship completely, they make a promise. They will stay apart for five years and meet again after that time. If they are both single and still love each other, they will get married.

Duygu eventually dies from her illness, leaving Murat and their child behind. Murat then has to continue his life while carrying the memory of the woman he has loved since childhood.

The ending gives the film its emotional impact. Murat and Duygu finally find their way back to each other, but they have very little time left together.
