The actor now has one of the most talked-about movie lineups in Bollywood, with projects ranging from a massive mythological epic to a highly anticipated sequel and a Sanjay Leela Bhansali love story.

What makes his upcoming slate even more interesting is that several of these films could show Ranbir in completely different roles and worlds. From playing Lord Ram in Ramayana to returning as Ranvijay in Animal Park, the actor appears ready for another major transformation.

The first part is currently scheduled to reach cinemas during Diwali 2026. The scale of the project, its mythology-based story and its impressive cast have already made it one of the most anticipated Indian films.

For Ranbir, the role is also a major career challenge. After playing intense and modern characters, portraying Lord Ram gives him an opportunity to enter an entirely different space.

Love and War

Ranbir will also headline Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal.

The film has already generated enormous interest because of its cast and Bhansali’s reputation for creating visually grand romantic dramas. However, its release has been delayed from earlier plans.

The latest listed release date is January 21, 2027, although release schedules can change.

With Ranbir, Alia and Vicky sharing the screen, Love and War could become one of the biggest Bollywood releases of 2027.

Ramayana Part Two

The story will not end with the first Ramayana film. Ramayana Part Two is also part of Ranbir’s upcoming lineup and is currently listed for October 2027.

That means audiences could potentially see Ranbir return to the role of Lord Ram again in the same year that several of his other major projects are expected to make headlines.

The second part could also take the story into some of the most dramatic chapters of the epic, making it an important follow-up to the first film.

Animal Park

For fans who loved Animal, perhaps no upcoming project is more intriguing than Animal Park.

The sequel to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal is officially in development, with Ranbir expected to return. Production is expected to begin in 2027, although the exact release date remains uncertain.

Animal Park is particularly exciting because audiences are eager to discover what happens next in Ranvijay’s story. The sequel could take the character into an even darker and more unpredictable chapter.

Brahmastra 2

Another major project on Ranbir’s horizon is Brahmastra 2, the follow-up to Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy adventure Brahmastra Part One.

Ranbir previously played Shiva in the franchise, and recent updates indicate that the second film is moving forward. Ranbir has also said that work on Brahmastra 2 could begin sooner than fans expected.

If Ranbir does eventually take on Dhoom 4, it could give him another completely different role and potentially introduce him to the popular action-thriller franchise.
