Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2 could finally be happening. Director Zoya Akhtar has hinted that she and Reema Kagti are working on the idea, giving fans fresh hope for a return to the much-loved friendship story.

The original Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, released in 2011, starred Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol. The film followed three childhood friends—Arjun, Imran and Kabir—who went on a memorable road trip to Spain before Kabir's wedding.

More than a decade later, the movie is still loved for its friendship, travel, humor and emotional moments. Now, fans are wondering if the trio could return for another adventure.

1. Is Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2 Really Happening?

There is some good news, but the sequel is still in the early stages.

Zoya Akhtar recently spoke about the possibility of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2 and said, “We are on it.” This suggests that the idea is being discussed, although there is no completed script or official production announcement yet.

So, fans should keep their expectations realistic. The sequel may happen, but it is not ready to go into production just yet.

2. Will Hrithik, Farhan and Abhay Return?

The biggest question is whether the original trio will come back.

Zoya Akhtar and writer Reema Kagti reportedly want to explore what happened to Arjun, Imran and Kabir years after their famous Spain trip. The idea would allow the story to show how their lives and friendship have changed over time.

However, the story still needs to be developed before it can be presented to Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol. Until the actors officially confirm their involvement, the original cast's return remains uncertain.

3. Fans Already Got a ZNMD Reunion

Fans got a taste of the old magic in 2025 when Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol reunited for a Yas Island advertising campaign called Zindagi Ko Yas Bol.

The campaign brought back several familiar elements from the movie, including the blue car, the pink phone and Bagwati. The actors also recreated the fun friendship and banter that made the original film so popular.

Many fans initially believed the campaign could be a teaser for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2. When it turned out to be an advertisement, the excitement quickly turned into disappointment.

Zoya Akhtar later joked about the reaction, saying that people initially thought it was a trailer and celebrated, but she then received angry messages when they realized it was only an ad.

Will ZNMD 2 Happen?

For now, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2 is possible but not officially confirmed. Zoya Akhtar's comments are certainly encouraging, and the idea of revisiting Arjun, Imran and Kabir has already created huge excitement.

The real confirmation will come when the script is ready and the original cast signs on.

Until then, fans can only hope that the iconic trio gets one more road trip—and another unforgettable chapter of friendship.
