Zootopia 3 Is Official and the Story Is Getting Bigger

Disney has officially confirmed that Zootopia 3 is in development. The announcement was made during D23, giving fans another reason to look forward to the next chapter of the popular animated franchise.

The new movie will bring back some of the characters audiences already love, while also introducing a new story focused on birds. Disney Animation chief Jared Bush teased the return of the rabbit and the snake, suggesting that the next adventure could take Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde into a very different part of Zootopia.

During the D23 event in Anaheim, Ginnifer Goodwin and Ke Huy Quan appeared on stage as Disney shared the news about the upcoming sequel.

Jared Bush confirmed that the rabbit and the snake will return in Zootopia 3. While Disney has not revealed many story details yet, the announcement that birds will play an important role gives fans an early idea of what the new movie may explore.

The return of familiar characters is also expected to keep the connection with the first two movies while opening the door to new locations, characters, and conflicts.
