Comic book movies are now Hollywood's blockbuster giants, but there was a time when landing A-list actors for roles in superhero films was far more challenging. Nicole Kidman, however, never hesitated when she was offered a role in Batman Forever.

Recently, Kidman expressed her readiness to dive into a hardcore horror film. But as she reflected on her past experiences in the comic book movie world, she candidly shared why she accepted the role in Batman Forever—it wasn’t about the paycheck. The reason was much simpler and more personal: she wanted to kiss Batman.

“Everyone was asking, ‘Why are you doing this?’ And I would say, ‘Because I get to kiss Batman!’” Kidman revealed. “People don’t understand that it’s not always about the money. A lot of the mainstream blockbusters I’ve been a part of, I’ve done them because they offer something different.”

Kidman’s enthusiasm for comic book films didn’t end with Batman Forever. Her decision to join the Aquaman cast was heavily influenced by director James Wan, with whom she had long wanted to collaborate. “I really wanted to work with him on a horror film,” Kidman explained.

Before diving back into the world of comic book movies, Kidman is currently focused on some challenging new projects, including an erotic thriller that has pushed her to her limits. Her career continues to evolve, with each role showcasing her versatility and passion for acting.
