The Please Don't Destroy Group on Snl is Going in Different Directions
The comedy group "Please Don't Destroy" from "Saturday Night Live" (SNL) is changing.
The three members—Ben Marshall, Martin Herlihy, and John Higgins—are all doing different things now.
Ben Marshall has been promoted. He is now one of the show's performers, meaning he will appear on camera in sketches.
Martin Herlihy will stay at SNL, but he will continue his job as a writer behind the scenes. He is also starting to act in movies.
John Higgins has decided to leave SNL. He wants to focus on becoming an actor in other projects.
Even though their jobs on the show are changing, the three friends have promised they will still work together on other comedy projects outside of SNL. They said they love each other and this is just a "new chapter" for them.
Who are Please Don’t Destroy?
They became famous on SNL for making funny, pre-recorded videos (called digital shorts) where they usually played themselves. These videos often featured very famous guest stars like Taylor Swift.
The trio met in college and started making videos together. They became especially popular during the COVID-19 pandemic by posting their sketches online. They were hired by SNL in 2021. They also made a movie together called "Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain."
It's interesting to note that two of them have family connections to comedy: Martin's father and John's father both worked as writers for SNL in the past.
