One surprising name now linked to the role is Scottish actor Jack Lowden. The 36-year-old actor has reportedly become one of the names being considered for the next James Bond movie.

The latest rumor came from British television personality Richard Osman, who discussed the possibility on his podcast The Rest Is Entertainment.

According to Osman, a source mentioned Jack Lowden as a possible choice for the role. However, there is still no official confirmation that Lowden has been selected.

Osman also made it clear that the actor has not officially secured the part. Still, the rumor has attracted attention because Lowden has many qualities that could work well for a modern James Bond.

His style is less polished and more rugged than some of the other actors linked to the role. That could give the famous spy a different personality after Daniel Craig's darker and more physical version of Bond.

Lowden is already familiar with the world of espionage. He plays River Cartwright in the popular Apple TV+ series Slow Horses, alongside Gary Oldman.

His film career also includes major projects such as Dunkirk, Mary Queen of Scots, and Wolf Hall. These roles have shown that he can handle serious characters and large productions.

That experience could make him a strong choice for one of the biggest roles in Hollywood.

Other Actors Are Still in the Race

Lowden is not the only actor connected to the next James Bond movie. Names such as Jacob Elordi and Callum Turner have also been mentioned in recent speculation.

Meanwhile, many fans continue to support popular choices including Tom Hardy and Henry Cavill.

However, fan polls do not necessarily predict what the producers will decide. The final choice will depend on the filmmakers and the direction they want for the next Bond era.

When Will the New James Bond Be Revealed

The next Bond movie is being developed with director Denis Villeneuve attached to lead the project. Casting director Nina Gold, who has also worked on Slow Horses, is reportedly involved in the search for the new 007.

Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly targeting 2028 for the next James Bond movie. The new actor could be officially announced before the end of 2026.

For now, Jack Lowden remains only a rumored candidate. But if the reports are accurate, he could become one of the most interesting contenders to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond.
